PrepTA commission model

Learn more about commissions PrepTA charges, trial lesson payment and how do we use it.

Before you start tutoring on PrepTA, it is important to familiarise yourself with our commission model. this will help to understand how the platform works, ans how to make it work for you.

What commission does PrepTA charge?

It is free to sign up for PrepTA and we don’t charge a fee to host your profile. Commission is only charged when a tutor starts to get booking from students. The commission for every trial lesson is 50%. For all the subsequent lessons, the tutor is charged a percentage of the hourly rate (33%). The rate depends on the total number of lesson hours a tutor has taught on the platform.

The rate of commission are shown in the table below. Please note that total number of completed hours is the overall number of teaching hours you have accumulated on the platform (not hours per student). Trial lessons are also counted

Where does the commission go?

A large part of our commission is invested in bringing students to the platform from all around the globe. We invest heavily in platform optimisation and technical improvement to create a world class online study space that will enhance your tutoring experience, and attract and retain even more students in the long run. We also provide multilingual customer support to help you with all your questions as quick as possible.

Think of every trial lesson as an opportunity to gain a new regular student. In your few weeks on PrepTA, you may find yourself teaching several trial lessons, but your efforts should payoff when these students become your regular clients. Whatever the subject, progress is not possible without time and practice.

You should signup to become a tutor on this website only if you agree with the commission model above.
